Steady Bike Power Anchors a Solid Olympic Finish Jason Hansen closed out this year's Olympic-distance race in 3:09:26, finishing 36th in the competitive 45-49 age group his best divisional finish across five Spudman appearances. The bike leg was clearly his strength, where he averaged roughly 19 mph and jumped from 947th to 321st in his gender's field by the time he dismounted, a significant move up the leaderboard. Both transitions were crisp, at just over four minutes combined, keeping momentum heading into the run. The run leg settled into a consistent 12-minute-mile rhythm for most of the course before a strong final kick brought him to the finish. Compared to his 2025 result, this year's overall time slipped by about 11 minutes, suggesting room to build more run endurance to match the bike gains he's clearly made.
