A Steady, Determined Finish Highlighted by a Strong Bike Leg Laura Yuill completed the 2026 Spudman Sprint Triathlon in 2:43:09, finishing 6th in the Women's 60-69 division and 223rd among 570 female finishers. Her bike leg stood out, covering roughly 11.3 miles at an average speed of about 10.3 mph, a segment where she moved up significantly in the field compared to her swim and run positions. She held a mid-pack position through the swim before gaining ground on the bike course, showing solid cycling strength relative to her competitors. Compared to her 2022 Spudman finish of 2:23:31, this year's time reflects a slower overall pace, with more time spent in transitions and on the run. Yuill's swim and bike efforts remained competitive within her age group, but there's an opportunity to focus on tightening transition times and building run endurance to bring her overall performance closer to her previous personal best at this race.
