Bike Surge Fuels a Strong Olympic Finish Samuel Brasher turned in a well-rounded performance at the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon, highlighted by a bike leg averaging roughly 16.4 mph. A standout stretch mid-ride saw him hit a blistering 3:38/mile pace, briefly climbing to 226th overall and 21st in his divisiona clear sign of strong cycling power. His swim and transitions were steady, and he closed the run with a sharp final kick, dropping to a 4:16 pace over the last tenth of a mile. This marks a step up from this year's Spudman, where Brasher completed the Sprint distance in 1:38:37, finishing 93rd overall and 16th in his division. Tackling the longer Olympic course, he showed his cycling remains a real strength. The run pace gradually eased over the back half, suggesting that building endurance for the second half of the run could help him carry his bike momentum all the way to the finish line.
