Strong Bike Leg Fuels a Well-Rounded Olympic Finish Teague Sorenson delivered a balanced performance at the Olympic-distance race, highlighted by a strong showing on the bike. He averaged nearly 13.8 mph over the course, climbing from 672nd overall after the swim to as high as 490th during the middle miles of the bike leg a clear sign of strength and consistent power on two wheels. The swim was steady, and the run started promisingly, with his first mile off the bike clocking in at 12:23. However, pace gradually slowed over the back half, dipping into the 14- to nearly 18-minute range over the final miles. That late fade points to an opportunity to build more run durability for Olympic-distance racing targeting even effort deeper into the run could help him hold onto the gains made on the bike.
