Bike Power Fuels Steady Olympic Finish Dave Ashby completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 2:38:54, placing 147th overall out of 1,987 finishers and 6th in the men's 60-64 division. His swim covered 0.86 miles in 19:49, followed by a crisp 3:20 T1. The bike leg was the highlight24.39 miles in 1:03:16, averaging roughly 23.1 mphwhich pushed him as high as 16th overall by the mile 22.9 checkpoint. A quick 3:17 T2 kept transitions efficient before a 1:09:14 run closed things out. This performance trails his sharper 2023 (2:22:26, 6th in division) and 2024 (2:19:49, 3rd in division) Spudman results, though it still improves on his 2022 finish of 2:41:24. Building more run speed to match that strong bike pace could help him climb back toward his 2024 form.
