Bike Surge Powers a Solid Olympic-Distance Effort Brett Evanson crossed the finish line in 3:24:49, good for 951st overall and 57th in the competitive men's 45-49 division. His swim and run were steady, but the bike leg stood out averaging roughly 14.8 mph overall, with one standout stretch where he surged to a blistering 3:35/mile pace, temporarily climbing into the top 310 overall. That burst of speed showed real strength on two wheels and was a highlight of his day. Compared to his previous Spudman finishes 3:08:34 in 2023 and 3:13:29 in 2025 this year's overall time was a bit slower, though he still managed to improve his divisional placement from 63rd in both prior years to 57th this time. The bike remains a clear strength to build on, while a touch more consistency on the run could help him close the gap to his personal best.
