Race Recap powered by Laurel Intelligence

Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Bryan Call #1019 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Powerful Bike Leg Anchors a Gritty Endurance Test Bryan turned in a strong bike performance, covering the course at roughly 18 mph and posting some of his fastest overall placements of the day during that segment, climbing into the top 100130 range at multiple points. His transitions were efficient, with T1 and T2 combining for well under six minutes, showing good preparation and quick execution between disciplines. The run proved to be the toughest stretch, with pacing settling in the 10:0011:36/mile range as fatigue accumulated late in the race. Compared to his 2023 and 2025 Spudman finishes (2:42:32 and 2:42:40), this year's 2:56:45 was slower overall, suggesting the bike gains were offset by a harder day on the run. Sharpening run fitness off the bike could help him close the gap between his strong cycling splits and overall finishing time in future races.
