Bike Strength Anchors a Steady Olympic Debut Scott McKay completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:12:24, showcasing a strong cycling leg that stood out as the highlight of his day. Averaging roughly 17.3 mph over the bike course, Scott moved up significantly in the field, climbing from 1,288th after the swim to under 800th by T2. His transitions were efficient, with a swift 3:39 in T2 helping maintain his bike momentum into the run. The run proved more challenging pace-wise, with splits gradually slowing from a 10:34 mile early on to over 12:00 by mile 31, suggesting some fatigue in the closing miles. Still, Scott finished 735th overall and 45th in his competitive 45-49 age group, a solid result built largely on the strength of his bike leg. Sharpening run consistency in the back half could be a productive focus for future races.
