Steady Pacing Across Three Disciplines Delivers a Solid Olympic-Distance Finish Zach Pugmire completed the Olympic-distance race in 3:07:16, showcasing balanced effort across all three legs. His swim covered 0.86 miles in 28:43, transitioning quickly through T1 in just over six minutes. On the bike, he covered approximately 24.4 miles in 1:26:30 translating to a strong average of roughly 16.9 mph, a segment where he made up considerable ground, moving from 1203rd overall after the swim to 839th by the end of the ride. The run leg, covering about 6.2 miles, was completed in 1:03:01, holding a fairly consistent pace throughout despite a natural fade in the closing miles. Zach finished 646th overall out of 1,987 participants and 89th in the competitive 35-39 age group. With a strong bike leg as the highlight of the day, a bit more consistency in the run's later miles could help him climb further in future events.
