Bike Strength Bookends a Tougher Run Tyler Starr completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:33:03, highlighted by a strong 1:31:23 bike leg averaging roughly 16 mph. His 30:34 swim and efficient transitions (3:56 and 3:32) kept him well positioned heading into the run. That's where pacing became the story of the day early run splits held around a solid 12:38 mile, but the pace drifted to 14:14 per mile over the final stretch, signaling some fatigue late in the race. This result trails Tylers previous two Spudman finishes 2:55:59 in 2025 and 3:02:22 in 2023 both of which featured stronger overall pacing throughout. The bike leg continues to be a clear strength, and tightening up run consistency, particularly in the closing miles, could help him move back toward that 20232025 form.
