Consistent Pacing Powers a Top-25 Finish Sam Starr delivered a well-rounded performance at Spudman, finishing 26th overall out of 570 athletes and 4th in the competitive 1-19 Sprint Male division. His swim and bike legs were particularly strong, with steady position gains throughout the bike course, climbing from 45th place early on to 39th by the final bike split. His cycling pace averaged just over 16.6 mph, a strong showing that helped set up the rest of his race. Sam maintained solid form into the run, holding his division rank at 4th through the finish. One area to watch for future races is transition efficiencyhis T1 took over four minutes, slightly slower than several competitors in his age group. Tightening that transition could shave meaningful time off his overall result. Overall, a strong, competitive race for the 16-year-old from Fruitland, ID.
