Swift Swim and Powerful Bike Fuel a Well-Rounded Olympic Finish Brandt Nichols turned in a strong all-around performance at the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon, finishing in 2:40:55 to place 183rd overall out of 1,987 finishers, 157th among men, and 28th in the competitive 35-39 age group. His swim was a highlight, clocking 19:38 to rank 128th overall and 110th among men a clear strength to build on. He backed that up with a bike leg of 1:22:45, averaging roughly 17.9 mph, which moved him as high as 53rd overall at one point during the ride. The run leg, completed in 53:22, saw Nichols hold steady in the 150-190 range for gender placement throughout, with mile splits generally in the 8:30-9:00 range. Transitions were efficient, with a 3:19 T1 and a quick 1:53 T2. Given his swim and bike strength, sharpening overall run consistency could help him climb further in future Olympic-distance races.
