Fast Swim and Powerful Bike Fuel a Strong Age-Group Finish Jeffery Williams opened his Olympic-distance race with a standout swim, clocking 19:32 to land 118th overall and 4th in his division exiting the water a clear strength to build on. He backed that up with a quick T1 (2:57) and a bike leg averaging roughly 17.8 mph, pushing him into the top 65 riders at multiple checkpoints before finishing the bike 277th overall. The run proved tougher, with pacing drifting from a brisk 9:22 opening mile to an 11:06 stretch mid-run before he found a strong final kick, closing at a 4:57 pace over the last tenth of a mile. Despite an overall time of 2:53:34 about 14 minutes slower than his 2024 Spudman effort Williams actually improved his standing, moving up to 376th overall (from 442nd) and climbing to 5th in the U40 Clydesdale division, up from 9th two years prior.
