Local Racer Closes Strong, Shaves Nearly Seven Minutes Off Previous Effort Racing in his hometown of Burley, Jeremy Hunter turned in a 2:11:36 finish at this year's Spudman Sprint Triathlon, improving on his 2023 result of 2:18:05 by nearly seven minutes. His swim was efficient at 18:46, and a snappy 3:29 T1 got him onto the bike quickly. On the bike, he averaged roughly 13.1 mph over the course, showing his strongest positioning mid-ride before easing back slightly in the closing miles. The run told two stories a slower opening mile gave way to a notable surge late, with Hunter dropping to a 12:38 pace in the second-to-last mile and finishing with a strong 6:14 pace over the final tenth. T2 ran long at 9:38, an area worth tightening up next time. Overall, he placed 325th out of 570 finishers, a solid showing bolstered by real gains since his last Spudman appearance.
