Steady Pacing Secures Podium Push in Age Group Scott McCord turned in a strong all-around sprint triathlon performance, climbing to 3rd in the Male 50-59 division by the finishan improvement over his previous divisional finish. His swim was a highlight, ranking 88th among all men, and he carried that momentum onto a bike leg averaging roughly 15.2 mph over 12.45 miles. Transitions were efficient, with T1 and T2 combined taking just over 12 minutes, reflecting solid preparation between disciplines. The run rounded out the day at a steady pace near 10:38/mile, holding position well over the final miles and even gaining ground late, moving from 185th to 165th overall by the finish. While his overall time was about 14 minutes slower than his prior appearance at this race, the improved divisional placement shows sharpened competitiveness within his age group. Continued focus on bike speed could help him close the gap further next season.
