Fast Start Fuels a Determined Finish Andrew Peterson opened his race with real speed, exiting the water in 20:40 and ranking inside the top 15 overall at the very start of the swiman encouraging sign of his early pacing instincts. His transition into the bike was efficient, and by the midpoint of the ride he was clipping along at a strong 13.5 mph pace, one of the more impressive stretches of his day. Overall, his bike leg averaged out to roughly 10.6 mph across the full course. The run proved to be the toughest test, with his mile splits settling into the 1112 minute range as fatigue set in. Given how well he handled the swim and the fast middle portion of the bike, building run endurance could help him carry that early momentum all the way to the finish line next time. He crossed in 2:06:41, placing 31st in the Male 1-19 Sprint division.
