Strong Bike Leg Fuels a Big Division Jump Kevin finished this year's race in 2:44:13, placing 221st overall and climbing to 15th in the men's 50-54 divisiona solid improvement from 27th at this same race in 2024, though just off his personal best of 2:31:35 set in 2022. The bike was clearly his strongest segment, where he averaged nearly 19.9 mph over 25.36 miles and briefly held as high as 3rd in his division mid-ride. Transitions were sharp too, with T1 in 3:07 and T2 in under two minutes. The run, however, faded as it progressedan opening mile at 8:36 gradually slipped to an 11:19 pace by the final stretch. Shoring up run endurance in the back half could help him fully capitalize on that strong cycling position and push even higher in the standings next time out.
