Powerful Bike Leg Propels Strong Olympic-Distance Finish Alex Casey turned in a well-rounded performance at the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon, finishing in 2:29:03 and placing 64th overall out of 1,987 athletes, with a 1st place finish in the Non-Competitive division. The standout segment was the bike leg, where Alex averaged roughly 22 mph, a pace that moved him steadily up the fieldfrom 137th after the first bike split to 36th by the later stages of the ride, ultimately exiting T2 in 51st overall. The swim and run rounded out a consistent day, with the run holding firm positioning through the final miles. Alex crossed the line having maintained composure across all three disciplines, with the bike clearly the strongest asset. Building some additional run speed off the bike could help close the gap even further in future Olympic-distance events, but this was a smart, controlled race with a clear high point on two wheels.
