Bike Surges Power a Solid Olympic Effort Ryan Gustin completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:50:34, placing 911th among men and 110th in a deep 30-34 age group. After a solid swim, Ryan turned in the strongest segment of his race on the bike, climbing as high as 250th in his gender division mid-ride while averaging roughly 15.6 mph over the rolling 24.8-mile course a clear highlight of the day. The run split told a different story, with pace settling into the mid-15-minute-per-mile range and gradually costing him ground held from the bike, finishing 1243rd overall out of 1987 athletes. With his cycling strength clearly established, building more consistent run endurance could be the key to translating that bike form into an even stronger overall finish at future Spudman races.
