Bike Strength Anchors a Steady Olympic Finish Jeff Otto completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 2:37:34, placing 133rd overall and 5th in the competitive men's 60-64 division. The bike leg was his standout segment, averaging roughly 20.3 mph over 24.4 miles, highlighted by a strong middle split near 21.2 mph. He exited the water in 18:57 and moved efficiently through both transitions, sitting inside the top 80 by T1. The run settled into a consistent 9:359:55 per mile rhythm across the final 6.2 miles, showing solid pacing control late in the race. Compared to his 2:16:40 finish in 2022, Jeff's times have gradually increased through 2023 (2:21:54) and 2025 (2:28:33) to this year's 2:37:34an expected shift as he's progressed from the 55-59 to the 60-64 age group. His cycling remains a clear strength; sharpening run cadence in the later miles could help tighten future results.
