Bike Speed Surged as the Race Progressed, Fueling a Strong Olympic Finish Alexandria Tew turned in a well-rounded Olympic-distance performance, finishing 545th overall and 99th among 1,987 female competitors. After a steady swim, she settled into the bike leg and built serious momentum as the ride progressed climbing from roughly 14 mph in the early miles to over 17 mph in the closing stretch, a great sign of pacing discipline and strength on two wheels. Her run leg showed consistency, holding a steady rhythm in the mid-9-minute-mile range through the final miles, closing out the race with composure. Placing 18th in her 35-39 age group, Alexandria's race reflected balanced training across all three disciplines. Building on that late-race bike speed and translating it into an even faster start could be a great focus for her next Olympic-distance event.
