Strong Swim and Bike Legs Set Up a Determined Run to the Finish Trent Furlong completed his Olympic-distance race in 3:58:37, highlighted by a swift 29:55 swim and a bike leg that averaged roughly 14.1 mph over the course. That bike split was a real strength, moving him up through the field before heading into T2. The run proved to be a battle of pacing, with Trent's per-mile effort gradually easing from the mid-14:00s early on to the mid-15:00s in the middle miles before he found another gear late, closing out the final stretch with a strong final kick. Finishing 942nd among men and 132nd in the 35-39 division, Trent's day showed a well-executed swim-bike combination. Sharpening the mid-run pacing could be a good focus for his next race, aiming for a more even effort across the final 10K.
