Solid Bike Leg Anchors a Determined Olympic Finish Justin Smith completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:38:17, finishing 1114th overall and 64th in the Male 45-49 division. His swim came in at 26:58, followed by a strong 1:31:22 bike split that averaged roughly 16.1 mph over the 24.5-mile course a clear high point in his day. Transitions were efficient, with T1 in 3:37 and T2 in 4:24, showing good preparation between legs. The run proved more challenging, with a 1:31:57 split that saw his pace ease in the later miles. Compared to his 2023 Spudman performance (3:18:48), this year's overall time was about 20 minutes slower, driven mainly by the run segment. Building targeted run endurance work could help him close that gap and bring his overall time back toward his previous personal best.
