Consistent Pacing Fuels a Strong Endurance Performance Sarah Westover completed her Olympic-distance race in 3:36:53, finishing 279th among 987 women. Her bike leg averaged roughly 13.8 mph, showing steady power output across the full distance, while her run settled into a consistent rhythm in the 10:3010:45 min/mile range for most of the course. One standout moment came late in the run: her third running split (miles ~28.930.1) was completed fast enough to rank 11th overall and 4th among women for that segment a strong surge of speed after already covering significant distance. Building more of that closing strength earlier in the run could help her sustain a faster overall pace throughout future races.
