Steady Bike Power Fuels a Solid Age-Group Finish Bryan Willets covered the Olympic-distance bike course at roughly 17.3 mph, highlighted by two standout segments where he split into the top 5 of his 55-59 age group (5th and 4th, respectively). His swim was efficient and placed him well within the front half of his gender field early on, setting up a strong transition into the bike leg. The run showed a gradual pace settling, closing out a solid all-around effort across the full distance. Compared to his 2025 Spudman finish, this year's overall time was about 9 minutes slower, but Bryan actually improved his age-group placement, moving from 21st to 15th in the 55-59 Solo Male division. This suggests strong relative performance even amid a tougher day on the clock. Continuing to build run consistency off the bike could help him close the gap to an even faster overall time next season.
