Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Luke Morris #1102 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Steady Climb Through the Field, Powered by a Strengthening Bike Leg Luke Morris turned in a strong all-around performance at the Spudman Olympic Triathlon, using the bike leg to make his biggest move in the field. After exiting the water in 1276th place overall, Morris steadily built speed over the 24.39-mile ride splits show him accelerating from an already solid 17.7 mph pace up to nearly 19 mph mph in the back half of the bike vaulting him to 880th overall by T2, a gain of nearly 400 positions. That momentum carried into the run, where Morris continued climbing the leaderboard, finishing 681st overall out of 1,987 athletes and 52nd in the Elite Men's division. His run pace hovered in the 10:10-10:30 per mile range for most of the 6.65-mile course, capped by a strong final kick into the finish. With the swim being his most ground lost (76th in division), tightening that leg could help him carry even more of his bike strength into future results.
