Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Marcos Zelver #6306 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

A Solid All-Around Performance Fueled by a Strong Bike Leg Marcos Zelver completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:16:28, anchored by a bike split of 1:38:13, averaging roughly 14.9 mph over the course. Within that ride, he found real strength on the mid-course rollers, hitting a blistering 16.8 mph segment (3:34/mile pace) and another at 16.7 mph clear high points in his race. The 27:02 swim and 1:03:20 run rounded out a well-balanced effort across all three disciplines. Compared to his 2025 Spudman finish of 2:56:35, this year's time was about 20 minutes slower, with pace dropping from 5:34/mile to 6:12/mile overall. Transitions offer a clear area to sharpen T1 took 6:09, notably longer than T2's crisp 1:45, suggesting room to tighten up the swim-to-bike changeover. The run stayed consistent throughout, holding between 10:04 and 10:48 per mile, showing solid endurance execution even after a demanding bike leg.
