Strong Bike Split Anchors a Determined Endurance Effort Paul completed the Olympic-distance course in 3:38:50, finishing 25th in the competitive 60-64 age group. His swim came in at 27:47, followed by a steady transition into a bike leg where he averaged roughly 16.3 mph over the course a strong showing that moved him up through the field, climbing as high as 17th in his division during the back half of the ride. The run proved tougher, with pace gradually slowing from an early 12:38 mile to the 14:30s by the final miles, ultimately settling his overall time about 15 minutes slower than his 2025 Spudman finish. Still, the bike strength stands out as the highlight of the day, and sharpening run consistency in the closing miles could help close that gap next time out.
