Steady Pacing and a Strong Bike Leg Power a Top-10 Age Group Finish Jen Jessen turned in a well-balanced performance at Spudman, finishing 9th in her 50-59 age group and 135th among 570 women overall. After a solid swim, she used the bike leg to make her biggest move, climbing from 329th place overall exiting T1 to 204th by mile 12 riding at an average pace of roughly 13.1 mph. That surge set her up well heading into the run. The run leg showed real grit, with one standout stretch (mile 13.8 to 14.78) where she jumped from 273rd to 61st overall, a sign of a strong mid-run push. She settled back into a steady rhythm to close out the race in 2:04:14. With the bike gains as a highlight, focusing on carrying that same intensity through the entire run could help her climb even higher in future results.
