Steady Splits and a Strong Finishing Kick Emily Steadman turned in a well-rounded Olympic-distance performance at Spudman, riding the Snake River's current to a swim split of 27:39 before transitioning quickly (T1: 3:32) onto the bike course. She averaged roughly 14.1 mph over the 23.26-mile ride, holding a steady effort that carried her into a brisk second transition (T2: 2:57). Her run showed real consistency, settling into a pace near 10:20 per mile for most of the 6.2-mile course before closing with a strong final sprint, clocking a 4:29 pace over the last tenth of a mile. While her swim and run were highlights, her overall position slipped slightly during the bike leg, dropping from 821st to 1055th overall by the bike's endan area worth revisiting in future training blocks to build more relative strength on two wheels. Still, her ability to recover ground on the run, moving back up to 723rd by the first run split, speaks to solid endurance and mental toughness through the back half of the race.
