Fast Start Sets the Tone, Late Bike Fade Tells the Story Camille Ellsworth opened her race with a strong swim, exiting the water in 218th overall and climbing into the top 115 by the early bike checkpoint at B2 a clear sign of solid early pacing and a confident transition. Her opening bike split (17:35 over 3.23 miles) was her fastest of the ride, averaging over 11 mph, showing real strength right out of T1. From there, the pace cooled: by B3 she'd slipped to 304th, and her final bike split dropped to just under 12 mph average for the ride. The run followed a similar pattern a solid opening mile near 3:54/mile pace before settling into the mid-teens per mile later on. Finishing in 2:21:39, Camille's race highlights a strong aerobic engine early on; building endurance to sustain that opening intensity through the back half of the bike and run could unlock an even stronger overall time.
