Bike Leg Fuels a Mid-Race Surge Sam Redstone opened his race with a steady swim, then used T1 to set up a standout bike leg. Averaging roughly 17.1 mph, he climbed from 307th overall after the swim to 168th by the bike finishone of the most significant position gains of his race. That strength on two wheels carried into a quick transition, setting him up well for the run. On the run, Redstone continued to move forward, finishing 119th overall out of 570 participants, 75th among men, and 18th in the 30-39 age group. His pacing during the final miles remained consistent, helping him close out the day with a total time of 1:46:46. The bike segment stands out as the highlight of his race, and building similar consistency in the swim could help him gain even more ground in future events.
