Powerful Bike Leg Anchors a Determined Sprint Finish Emilia Young turned in a strong showing at the 2026 Spudman Sprint Triathlon, highlighted by a bike leg that averaged roughly 17.0 mph, a segment where she climbed as high as 51st overall and 2nd in her division by mile 12. She exited the water in 17:25, then used the bike course to make up serious ground, jumping from 91st overall after the swim to 65th within the first mile of riding. Her run settled into a steady rhythm in the 12-minute mile range, closing out the race in 1:48:00 for 129th overall and 10th in the 1-19 Female division. Compared to her 2025 Spudman finish of 1:41:28, this year's time was about six minutes slower, with modest drops in both overall and gender placings. The bike performance stands out as the clear strength this year, and continued run development could help her recapture last year's pace.
