Strong Bike Surge Fuels Solid Olympic Finish Spencer Willets completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:10:24, finishing 703rd overall out of 1,987 athletes and 81st in the competitive 30-34 Male division. His swim came in at 22:26, transitioning efficiently before tackling the bike course, where he found his rhythm. A standout mid-bike segment saw him climbing as high as 9th in his division and 89th overall, hitting speeds averaging over 24 mph during a stretch of the ride a clear highlight of his day. The run proved tougher, with his pace settling into the 12-13 minute/mile range as the race progressed, ultimately dropping his positioning back to finish 81st in his age group. While the bike leg showcased real strength and control, Spencer may find gains by working on run durability off the bike to better preserve those hard-earned positions from the cycling leg.
