A Resilient Effort Fueled by a Standout Bike Surge Juel completed the Olympic-distance Spudman in 4:08:31, finishing 397th among women. The bike leg was a clear strength, averaging around 12.2 mph overall, with one standout stretch near mile 14 where she surged to roughly 15 mph a strong display of power on two wheels. The swim was steady, and the run settled into a consistent rhythm, holding pace in the 13:3014:00 minute range for most of the 10K. Compared to her 2025 Spudman finish of 3:49:53, this year's time was about 19 minutes slower. The dip suggests an opportunity to sharpen consistency across transitions and the run split, where pace fluctuated more than the previous year. Building targeted run endurance and quicker transitions could help her recapture that 2025 form while maintaining the bike strength she's clearly developed.
