Strong Bike Leg Powers Podium Finish Ward Rich turned in a standout performance, finishing 3rd in the 60-69 Sprint Male division and 29th overall among men. His bike leg was the highlight, averaging nearly 18.9 mph and moving him from 100th place after the swim to 39th by the bike finish a jump of over 60 spots. That surge carried into the run, where he held position among the top performers in his age group through the finish. Transitions were efficient, with quick turnovers in both T1 and T2 that helped maintain race momentum. The run leg was steady, holding a consistent 9-10 minute per mile effort during the closing miles. Overall, this was a well-rounded race with the bike segment clearly serving as the biggest strength a great foundation to build from for future pacing on the swim and run legs.
