Bike Strength Anchors a Determined Olympic Debut Emilio turned in a strong bike leg, averaging around 16 mph over the Olympic bike course, a clear highlight of his day. He moved through the field steadily on two wheels, climbing into the top 300 overall by the midpoint of the ride before settling into the run. The run told a story of two halves: an efficient opening pace gave way to some fatigue over the closing miles, with the final stretch slowing to a 13:30ish pace per mile before finding a strong final kick at an 11:14 close. Transitions were efficient, keeping momentum between disciplines. Overall, a solid Olympic-distance performance built on a well-paced bike leg future work on sustaining run pace deeper into the back half could unlock an even stronger finish.
