Bike Speed Surges Power a Strong Olympic Showing Sharp completed his first Olympic-distance Spudman in 3:19:58, finishing 687th among men and 70th in the competitive 25-29 age group. After a steady swim and quick T1, he settled into a strong ride, averaging roughly 15.5 mph across the bike course. A standout mid-ride stretch saw him hit close to 17.8 mph, propelling him into the top 300 overall at that pointa clear high note in his race. The run began with some early separation from that bike-leg strength, but Sharp found another gear in the second running segment, climbing to 19th in his divisionhis best positional result of the day. He held that form through the finish, closing out a race that marks a jump up in distance from his 2024 Spudman Sprint finish, showing solid endurance across a longer, more demanding course.
