Powerful Bike Leg Fuels a Top-Three Age Group Finish Deena Garbett turned in a strong showing at the Olympic-distance race, climbing from 410th overall after the swim to finish 169th out of 1,987 finishers. Her bike leg was the standout segment, covering the 24.39-mile course at roughly 19.3 mph and vaulting her more than 200 spots up the field a clear sign of well-executed pacing and power on two wheels. She carried that momentum into the run, holding steady around 9:10 min/mile splits to secure 3rd place in the Elite Women division. Compared to her 2025 Olympic result, Garbett's overall time was a few minutes slower, but her competitive position improved moving up from 5th to 3rd in her division and from 41st to 25th among women. The swim remains an area where incremental gains could translate directly into faster transitions and a stronger start to the bike leg.
