Strong All-Around Effort Highlighted by a Powerful Bike Leg Travis Gylling turned in a well-rounded performance at the 2026 Spudman Sprint Triathlon, finishing in 1:31:45 good for 21st overall, 17th among men, and 6th in the competitive 20-29 age group out of 570 total participants. His bike leg was a definite highlight, averaging roughly 16.7 mph, with one standout mid-ride surge (B9) clocking in near 20.7 mph, showing real strength and confidence on two wheels. Transitions were sharp throughout, with a brisk 1:50 T2 helping him hit the run with momentum. His run pace held steady in the low 8:00s per mile, closing strong with a final mile push under 8:10. With smooth transitions and a fast bike already dialed in, shaving time off the swim entry (T1 stood at 4:18) could be the next area to sharpen for an even stronger overall placement.
