A Steady Finish After a Tougher Day on the Course Melissa Ott completed the sprint distance in 2:30:48, finishing 400th overall out of 570 and 207th among women. Her swim came in at 24:57, followed by a lengthier T1 of 7:57 before heading out on the bike, which she covered at approximately 9.8 mph. T2 was quick by comparison at 3:56, transitioning into a run split of 37:28. Compared to her previous three Spudman sprint finisheseach showing progressively faster times, capped by a personal best of 1:43:55 in 2025this race marked a step back from that pace, particularly on the bike and run legs. The swim remained fairly consistent with past efforts. Sharpening transition times, especially T1, and working on bike speed could help her move back toward the form she showed in 2024 and 2025.
