A Personal Best Built on a Standout Swim Hunter Ott turned in his fastest Spudman yet, crossing the line in 1:45:59 a significant improvement over his previous three appearances at this race (2:06:23 in 2023, 1:53:40 in 2024, and 1:52:00 in 2025). This year's result marks a clear trend of steady, year-over-year progress, cutting over 20 minutes off his debut effort. The swim was a definite highlight, with Hunter posting the 4th-fastest swim split in his division and finishing that leg in the top 31 overall. His bike leg was strong as well, averaging just under 14 mph. The run settled into a steady rhythm, though his pace did drift in the final miles a good area to target in training, whether through added run volume off the bike or race-day pacing strategy. Overall, a well-rounded and encouraging performance.
