Strong Swim Sets the Tone for a Steady Olympic Finish Carolee Gardner opened her 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon with a standout swim, finishing 4th in her 55-59 age division and 103rd among all womena clear strength to build on. She carried that momentum into a solid bike leg, averaging roughly 16.5 mph over the course, before settling into a consistent run split that held her overall pace in the 11:30-12:00/mile range for most of the run. Compared to her 2022 Spudman finish, Carolee's overall time was about 14 minutes slower, but she actually improved her age-group placement, moving from 13th to 5th in the 55-59 division. That contrast suggests her swim and bike execution have sharpened even as overall conditions or pacing shiftedan encouraging sign of continued competitiveness in her division at Spudman.
