Strong Bike Surge Highlights a Hard-Fought Endurance Day Heather Housley completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 4:00:01, finishing 371st among women and 12th in her 55-59 division. Compared to her previous Spudman finishes3:52:13 in 2022 and a personal-best 3:27:34 in 2023this years result reflects a tougher overall pace, with the run segment showing the biggest shift from her past performances. The bike leg was a clear strength, averaging roughly 14.75 mph and briefly climbing into the top 5 in her division during the middle miles. That momentum didnt fully carry into the run, where her mile splits gradually slowed from the 14:00s to the high 17:00s per mile. Building run-specific endurance and working on maintaining pace late in the race could help her close the gap between her bike and run performances in future events.
