Steady Bike Split Powers a Division Climb Michael Housley completed the Olympic-distance race in 3:03:05, moving up to 12th in the 60-64 age groupan improvement from his 17th-place finish in the same division last year. His bike leg stood out, covering the course at an average of roughly 17.7 mph, a pace that pushed him as high as 9th in his division during the middle miles of the ride. The swim came in at 23:36, and he transitioned into the bike efficiently before settling into his run, finishing that leg in 1:09:30. While his overall time was a bit slower than his previous two Spudman appearances, his division placement shows continued competitiveness in a deeper 60-64 field this year. Dialing in a quicker transition through T1 could help shave a little time off future results.
