Bike Strength Fuels a Sharp Sprint Performance Andrew Huxford turned in a strong showing at this year's Spudman Sprint Triathlon, highlighted by a bike leg where he averaged roughly 14.8 mph, a pace that moved him into the top third of his age group during that segment. His swim, aided by the Snake River's current, came in at 20:04, and both transitions were efficient, with T1 in 5:26 and T2 in 5:20. The run proved more challenging, with his pace slowing from about 15:05/mile through mile 13.8 to over 16:30/mile by the finish. He crossed the line in 2:08:51, placing 12th in the 50-59 age group. This marks a shift from his previous two Spudman appearances, both Olympic-distance events in 2024 and 2025 with finish times over 3:35. Tightening up the back half of the run could help him build on this year's strong bike-driven result.
