Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Tommy Manwaring #7145 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Fast Start in the Water Sets the Tone for a Solid Olympic-Distance Effort Tommy Manwaring turned in a well-rounded performance at the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon, finishing 454th overall out of 1,987 finishers and 40th in the Elite Men division. His swim was a clear highlight, ranking 20th among Elite Men and 231st overall a strong showcase of his ability to capitalize on the Snake River's current-assisted downstream swim. On the bike, Tommy averaged roughly 17.4 mph over the 24-mile course, a steady pace that kept him within striking distance of the front pack, though his split rankings fluctuated more than on the swim, suggesting some inconsistency in effort distribution. The run told a similar story of fade: his pace slipped from about 9:10/mile early on to just over 10:00/mile by the final miles. Building more consistent pacing across the bike and run could help him close the gap between his excellent swim result and his overall finish.
