Steady Climb Through the Field Ends in a Top-5 Age Group Finish Austin Argyle turned in an efficient day at the Olympic-distance race, finishing 59th overall out of 1,987 participants and landing 5th in the competitive 30-34 Solo Male division. He exited the swim in the middle of the pack, but used a strong bike leg averaging roughly 19 mph to move into podium contention, climbing from 66th to 14th in his division by the time he racked his bike. The run proved to be his biggest weapon, as he continued to climb the leaderboard with a pace hovering around 7:15 per mile, ultimately passing several competitors in the final miles to secure 5th in his age group. This late-race surge, paired with quick transitions, highlights a well-executed pacing strategy and a runner who saves his best for last.
