Strong Bike Leg Powers a Solid Olympic-Distance Finish Evan turned in a well-rounded Olympic triathlon performance, finishing in 2:36:18 and placing 12th in his 30-34 age group. His swim was steady, and he transitioned quickly into a standout bike leg averaging roughly 20.4 mph over the course, a segment where he climbed as high as 70th overall on the road. That bike strength carried real weight, moving him up significantly from his early swim positioning. The run settled into a consistent rhythm in the 8:459:20 min/mile range, holding his position through the back half of the course without significant fade. Transitions were efficient, with T1 and T2 combined under seven minutes. Overall, the bike leg was clearly the highlight of the day if there's an area to build on, it would be closing the gap between swim and run paces to match that bike-leg intensity.
