Steady Bike Split Fuels a Determined Olympic Finish Heston Hobbs completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:41:53, finishing 1165th overall out of 1,987 athletes. He opened with a solid swim through the Snake Rivers current, transitioning quickly into a bike leg where he averaged roughly 15.2 mph over the course, a strong, consistent effort that moved him up through the field. The run proved tougher, with his pace slowing steadily over the final miles dropping from an 11:56 opening mile to nearly 16:00 pace by mile 31 before a strong closing kick. This late fade suggests room to build more durability for off-the-bike running in future races. Overall, Hestons bike strength was the highlight of his day, and sharpening his run endurance could unlock an even more competitive finish next time.
